About Me
Hi! I’m Jess, a genuine chatterbox and savoir-faire PR professional. I am like a sponge; I love to soak up new ideas and information, just as much as I like to squeeze out and share my own. Over the past five years I have gained extensive experience in the realm of communications, marketing, social media, and public relations.
Currently, I work at Thornley Fallis Communications as an Account Coordinator on the digital team. At Thornley Fallis I am responsible for numerous activities including developing and executing both creative and tactical communications for clients.
Prior to joining TF, I worked at a number of communications companies including MySpace Canada where I managed three MySpace portals including “A Place for Canadians”; Rogers where I coordinated various internal marketing projects; and QuickPlay Media where I organized the firm’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) client gala screening.
I have also gained international experience in San Francisco where I developed viral marketing and social media strategies for gaming company, Genesis Interactive “GotGame”.
In November 2009, I returned to California to speak at the KM World Conference in San Jose. As a guest speaker, my fellow panel members and I presented on how to develop enterprise 2.0 strategies for employee engagement.
In support of my work experience, I am a graduate of The University of Western Ontario where I received a BA in Media, Information and Technoculture (MIT). I specialized in an array of subjects ranging from entertainment journalism, Web 2.0 next generation technologies, YouTube culture, and blogging.
I latched onto media in my last years of High School when I look a strong liking to an advertising project. It was then I realized the power of my voice and technological savvy aptitude.
My education and work experiences have allowed me to unite my creative side with the competitive business drive of my personality in order to succeed in many ventures.
My passions include writing, networking, and experimenting with smart phone applications. When I am not online, I am exercising at the gym, reading at my local Starbucks, or planning my next travel destination.
I believe in genuine conversation, public discourse, and thinking outside the box.
